TilyExpress was founded by Nyombi Eric in 2019. It started as a small Sole proprietorship business being operated by Eric Who sed to drop ship products from Kampala downtown that he would afford in his limited capital which he generated through being a sales agent on some other E-commerce businesses and his teaching Job at Ebenezer Christian High School – Bulenga and fulfill orders that used to come through the website. Nyombi Used to deliver Orders by Himself either by Taxi or Bodaboda. His worst scenario was an order he delivered to Mukono and was caught up by a traffic Jam on his way from Mukono, he arrived home at Midnight. He decided to partner with a logistics service provider as more orders were coming in day by day. Nyombi Later decided to change the line of business to an online marketplace where vendors in Kampala can list products and TilyExpress would do the advertisement, customer care, and logistics. We started with our first vendor “Organize Uganda” who used to sell trouser hangers. Eric and other members who had joined him tried to reach out to other vendors but only for them to be rejected as it was hard to get trust from the vendors with time more vendors started registering, and Nyombi and other partners decided to Register TilyExpress in 2020 as a Private Company Limited by Shares as this would help win more trust from vendors and customers, still in 2020, TilyExpress Launched its first office at Plot 59, Martin Road, Kampala Uganda, We stayed at that office for a few months, however, we failed to meet our bills at that place and due as sales were very few and it was a covid-19 Period and we decided to leave those premises.

With the limited funding from the partner’s earnings, TilyExpress is moving from one level to another to becoming Africa’s first-ever customer-centric E-commerce platform starting from Uganda
